Prevention: Barbara O’Dair is taking on the new editor-in-chief role at @PreventionMag. She joins Rodale's top magazines and online resources after working as the executive editor at Reader's Digest where she was part of the team that transformed RD to digital versions. Barbara brings a wealth of experience to her new job with editing stints at More, Rolling Stone, Entertainment Weekly, Details and Harper's Bazaar. Prevention is creating an ad-free business model and new editorial vision with Barbara at the helm. 2. Advertising Age: Josh Golden (@JoshuaJGolden) has been named publisher of @adage. He was previously the vice president of global digital marketing at Xerox. Josh joins this Crain Communications company to move Advertising Age into the future of media and marketing technology. Josh was in charge of the team at Xerox that produced their website. Josh is the first publisher ever hired at Ad Age from outside the company. He also brings the experience of being a digital marketing group director at NBC Universal. 3. Mashable: Business reporter Jason Abbruzzese (@JasonAbbruzzese) has been promoted to business editor at @mashable. Jason's reporting work at Mashable included covering telecommunications, the internet and media. Before Mashable, Jason worked as a web producer and markets reporter at Financial Times. He takes over for Heidi Moore who moved on in April. In his new role, Jason will also be in charge of travel industry news along with business, telecom and media. 4. Politico Pro: Mark McQuillan is the new editor of financial services at @POLITICOPro. Mark draws experience from more than twenty years working at Bloomberg News. He recently was their enterprise editor in Washington, and before that held roles at Bloomberg News as the Washington bureau chief, team leader of international finance, and editor of the Tokyo bureau. 5. South Florida Business Journal: Mel Meléndez (@melmelendez) tackles the top role as the new editor-in-chief of @SFBJNews. For the last two years, he served as the managing editor and was recently working as the interim editor-in-chief. Before returning to Florida, Mel was the business editor at The Arizona Republic where he worked his way up from staff writer. As managing editor at SFBJ, Mel was in charge of digital strategy and will continue leading that direction in his new role.
